My Savior love me
OK, so sometimes I think that when we are put into certain callings we feel as though we get nothing from church. I have heard some say that is how they feel when in primary, but I have to honestly say I feel differently. Right now I am teaching the Valiant 8 class, and they have taught me so much in the short few months I have been teaching them. They have taught me patience, understanding, charity, love, and a new found knowledge and love for the scriptures. They are amazing children, and I feel very lucky and blessed to be teaching this wonderful group of children. This past Sunday we were practicing for the primary program and they were singing the songs. And as they sang I know that my Savior loves me, I was overwhelmed by the spirit and couldn't even sing because the spirit was strong in the room. Even the chorister was overwhelmed. It was as though angels were singing the song and you could tell by the way all the children were singing that they knew the words were true, that this was their testimony of the Savior...for those who don't know the words, it is a very powerful song, and I hope all of you look forward to hearing your primary sing it during their program, or look to download it from the lds.org primary website. The words that really stood out and when I felt the spirit the strongest is when they sang "I know He lives. I will follow faithfully. My heart I give to Him. I know that my Savior loves me." What simple, but beautiful words. I truly feel blessed and lucky to be with these wonderful children, who know who they are, and know that their savior loves them. I know they know it by the way they sing this song. The memory of them singing this, this past Sunday is still in my mind and ringing in my ears. I love these children so much. And one of the most amazing things about this song is that my 5 year old Benny knows the words and sings it constantly as he is walking around the house(and if you know Benny, he has a little speech problem, but not when he sings the words to this song). It brings tears to my eyes to hear him sing it, because I know he knows it is true. Isn't it amazing to be surrounded by so many wonderful angels, our future leaders of the church. I love my calling, I love my class, and I love my children. And I feel so blessed that my Savior loves me and that I have the knowledge that he lives. What a wonderful blessing in my life to be a member of this church where I get to serve these beautiful angels, and to have the best calling in life a mother to my own angels...I am the luckiest girl alive. And to be married to the greatest guy in the world, who is the greatest dad...life couldn't get any better!
