Sports Heaven

So our lives have been so busy lately with sports...between Byron's football, and Benny's soccer we have been running around like crazy. So I will post pics later of these guys playing their sports, and just tell a few fun stories for now.

This is Benny's first year of soccer. The first game he sat on the field and cried like the rest of his team (boy were we wondering why we paid to have him play a sport we don't like very much). Then the second game he got the hang of what he was suppose to be doing, and all of a sudden we had ourselves a natural born athlete. Benny loves playing, and he is great at it! He has scored 5 goals in the past 3 games, and I love watching him play...he is just so focused on what to do. The sad part is after the game, if he didn't score in the second half he cries after the game. So we have finally got him to understand that it is ok, and that the main purpose of the game is to have fun and to try hard. He is adorable out there because after he scores he turns looks to see if we are watching and waits to see if we are cheering him on and giving him a thumbs up, and then he smiles really big and runs around all happy!

Byron is playing his third year of flag football, and even though I had to sew all his pockets up(so he wouldn't put his hands in them), and he plays with his flags, he loves the game. He may not be one of the star players, but he does try hard most of the time...he just loves to talk which doesn't quite work in football. But he has got a lot better, and when he is focused he is amazing out there. It is fun to watch him and his little team because they are a talented team. The first practice they were learning to hike the ball (because before they just said go and threw it, or handed it off). So the coach had Byron be the quarterback first. So Byron lined up behind the biggest guy on the team (remember Byron is one of the smallest). The coach told him to get closer to him, so Byron moved a little closer, and the coach said you have to be right behind him. So Byron bent down (the other kid is bent down) and when Byron lined up his head was right in the kids bum...now you can just imagine how funny this looked, because Byron was too short to see anything over the guy. I wish I would have had a picture.

I am proud of my 2 little athletes and how hard they try to do their best. And I am proud of Tyson who thinks he is playing the sports with his brothers, and cheers them on. And as for my girls they make good little spectators and they patiently sit there and watch their brothers and eat!
