So under all the hard candy shell of Steve you will find a sweet candy center and the sweetest husband in the world. Yesterday was our anniversary of 10 years ago when Steve asked me to marry him. So to celebrate, Steve blew off his church meeting he was suppose to go to and took me and the kids down memory lane. We headed up with the kids to Nuns Park up Provo Canyon, where he had asked me, and found the exact spot. We opened a bottle of Martinelli's just like we had that night, Steve cut his finger, just like that night because we forgot a bottle opener. And he told the kids the story of how he asked me and where all his friends were hiding in the bushes and stuff. Secretly I had hoped he would reenact the whole thing, or surprise me with something...but when he started rummaging around the bushes and found the weeds that whistle and then found a Frisbee I gave up on that idea and figured oh well that is just my hopeless romantic side. Then he went back to look for more stuff and told the kids this is where his friends got stuck in the bushes the night he asked me to marry him after they had given me the roses. I asked him what he was doing still rummaging in the bushes, and he just said just looking for stuff? And then he came up with a dozen red roses, identical to the ones from 10 years ago(got them from the same place) and handed them to me and told me that he loved me...then Byron asked if we left them there ten years ago so we could find them 10 years later...funny boy. And of course I cried and gave him a big hug and kiss, which made Emily smile.
What an awesome husband I have. Even though he tries to act all tough and unromantic in public, he is a teddy bear that loves to do romantic gestures for me all the time. He is the one person that can always make me smile and laugh at any time and I light up when I see him. And as for me and my cheesy side and as quoted by one of our favorite songs : Well, I'd still say yes to you again, My Darling for you I'd do it over and over again!" I love you Stevie!!
