So we have been extremly busy trying to go to different meetings, cleaning up our yard, planting our garden, going up the canyon with the kids, etc. But it has been fun to do most of these things with our kids. Our garden has 9 tomato plants (And Steve & Ben are the only ones who like tomatoes), Corn, Green Beans, Pumpkin, Watermelon, and Cantelope. I am excited for it to start producing.
Our family loves to go up the canyon for a night to hike a little (ok Steve hikes with the kids, while I hang out with Tyson...he is way to heavy to carry that far around), and to roast smores. It is like mini vacations for us. This past Friday we went up Hobble Creek Canyon and while we were there, Steve's brother Will told the kids some stories. Well Ben was sitting in his lap and Will made up a story using the kids names, well sort of (Emily was Bemily, Byron was Myron, etc.). Well in the middle of the story Ben said that was a stupid story, try again. Then later in a dragon story he yelled out in the middle of the story..."My butt hurts!" (we found out later it was because he was sitting on his uncle's keys). What a nutty little boy we have.
Then on Monday we had a lot of fun going up with Steve's family to South Fork and roasting hot dogs and smores. It was fun to let the little kids run around (or Tyson crawl around), and watch the guys play horseshoes. All the sister-in laws were talking and we decided we need to make a trip with just us 4 and go to Durango Colorado to the Bar-D....so guys I think we should set a date and go!!! It's fun to have family around, to be able to hang out with and talk with.
Our callings are going well, and we are excited for Trek & Girl's Camp. It's fun to be able to talk with our kids about our activities with the youth and to explain to them why we serve in these callings. They are so excited to be teenagers and be able to do all these things. Sister Dibbs taught us at the training, that it is important to sit your family down and let them know that the reason you serve in callings is because you want to serve the Lord. She said her parents did this and that is why she knew how important it was to serve the Lord. I am grateful to be able to serve the young women, they are true examples to me of daughters of our Heavenly Father. They know what it means when they stand up and say "We are daughters of our Heavenly Father who loves us and we love Him." How grateful I am to be able to be in the presence of such wonderful people who have the sincerest desire to serve their Father in Heaven.

Is the trek separate than youth conference or is it your youth conference?

I'll be in UT this weekend for a short trip. I'm not sure if I'll be able to stop by but I'll try.
I am so happy you get to live somewhere so wonderful where there is so much to do right at your fingertips. I know your kids will have great memories on all of the trips and camping. I miss that beautiful place! I wish I got to go back more or even at all.
:)
