Books

OK, so I have an embarrassing thing to admit, since college...or basically since high school I have only read about 6 or 7 books all the way through, that weren't the scriptures or church manuals/handbooks. I know pretty sad huh? I guess I was forced to read so many that I wanted a break, or I just got so busy with other stuff, that reading seemed like a waste of time. So the other day (OK it was really a year ago)I saw Pride and Prejudice on sale at Deseret Book for 1.99, so I bought it and decided I was going to read it. So I started reading it while I would wait for the kids to come out from school (if you don't get there 15 minutes early...good luck with parking). Then yesterday I had to wait an hour while Steve was in class, and since Tyson was asleep in the car, and Benny wanted to watch Toy Story and play with the toys in the car, I decided to park and just read for about 45 minutes. I got to the part that I love in the book (OK really in the movie, since I had never read the book), and I didn't want to just end it. So that afternoon, after picking the kids up, they went next door to play and I finished reading the book. I was very proud of myself...but I have to admit I skipped lots of parts, because it was so drawn out. And what I have decided is, even though I like to read, I really like watching the movie better. I know it is sad, but I truly believe now that I am more of a movie watcher, than a book reader. I never thought that day would come, but at least with a movie I am done with it in 2 hours and can watch it with my kids and hubby...especially my daughter (she loves Anne of Green Gables, even if it is 6 hours long!). So kudos to all of you how can read a book all the time and enjoy it, maybe one day when my kids are all in school I can go back to doing that, but until then, I will just watch the movie instead....unless it is Twilight...sorry again guys...can't stand the idea of that story.

I too love Pride & Prejudice :) I am not all head over heels in love with the Twilight Series like my sister is (whose read it FIVE times). It's just okay.
Not my favorite. Did you read Harry Potter? Those are easy reads and fun, too. :)
