So last Thursday Emily had her show for her Gymnastics class. It was fun for our family to go and watch her perform on the balance beam, uneven bars, floor exercises, and the vault. She did awesome, but just like in dance, everything is super quick with her...it is funny to watch her. So I think that is why she does so well on the uneven bars, because it is suppose to be quicker. We are so proud of her, and gymnastics has peaked her interest in other sports, and even in continuing in gymnastics...so we will see where that leads to.
Then Saturday we had valentines dinner with the kids. When we moved out to Lehi and had no babysitters we started the tradition of having a nice steak dinner with the kids. So we pull out the china (for the older ones) and buy nicer steaks and eat by candlelight. We also make some kind of special dessert for all of us...this year I did a chocolate cake with strawberry mousse and strawberries on top...it was yummy! And on Valentines morning, Steve and I sprinkle their floors with chocolate hugs and kisses and a special little stuffed animal. It is fun to celebrate this holiday with the kids, and make them feel special on this day also.
It was a great weekend, and we even went out on Friday to Chili's (thanks to Sharon & Doug for the gift certificate) and ate well. The kids were really good, especially Tyson...even if Benny kept wandering away.
