Too many things

So, I know that I haven't been good at posting so I am sorry because this is kind of my journal, and I need to get better at writing in it. So a brief overview of the past month....Byron turned 9 on Nov 13th and had all 7 cub scouts over for a b-day party...Ice AGE 3 Movie party with basketball game beforehand. Then that night we had a dinner for him with my sister's family and his cousin Spencer spent the night for Byron's first sleepover...they played Mario sunshine and played with toys until midnight where both boys crashed on the living room floor and awoke to more video games and a huge breakfast from Steve. I can't believe my son is already 9....he keeps telling me only 10 more years until I leave for my mission mom, I can't wait...and all I can say is don't make me cry. :)

Thanksgiving was a blast we had it at Steve's parents house, and though it was crowded, it was a lot of fun, and a lot of food. Then that night Steve and I did our own dinner with the kids and stuffed ourselves even more. But I can't forget the day started out with a traditional game from the RC Willey crew of Turkey Bowl (that is tackle football, not the woosey flag football as Steve puts it). And although they played hard, and played through stupid rules that one of the sales kept making up to benefit his team, the warehouse lost for the first time to the sales guys. But I am proud of myself for not taking out the quarterback on the other team...even though I wanted to the way he was bossing me around and making up rules.

Then on December 4, we received the news that Steve's grandma dastrup passed away. She was a great lady who was loved by so many and served others her entire life. The thing I remember most about her was that when I met her when I was leaving she told Steve "I guess she'll do." She had quite a sense of humor. Her funeral was on Friday Dec 11th, and it was great to be around the family again.

Friday Dec 11 after the funeral Steve and I went up to Salt Lake and looked at Temple Lights and went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir concert and heard Natalie Cole sing with them. It was amazing and one of the best concerts yet.

I received new callings this month and now I teach the 4th Sunday in Relief Society (Conference lesson) and I am the Bears Cub Scout leader.

Then for Christmas my parents came into town. We had a wonderful Christmas day with them filled with presents and lots and lots of food!!!

Christmas Eve we spent with Steve's family and had a nice dinner, a crazy nativity play with the kids, and opened lots of gifts!!

This is just a short summary of what has been going on and how crazy our lives have been...hope everyone has a Happy New Year!!

I didn't realize our boys share the same birthday (2 years apart). Funny. Sounds like you had a great holiday to end the year. Happy New Year!
