So Steve and I celebrated our 11th anniversary yesterday up in Salt Lake. We started the day with a trip to the Provo Temple. And after 3 years we finally finished a name my sister gave me and had him sealed to his parents. The spirit was amazing when he was being sealed to his parents, and as I kneeled there as proxy for the mom, Tabitha E Muse, I began to sob. She had been waiting a long time, and all I could think was I am so sorry for making you wait, I knew she was in the room with me, and that she was happy it was finally happening. Also, I could just picture this Southern mom, with all the sas that comes with us southerners, just wanting to come down and kick me in the bum and ask me what I was waiting for...ok so maybe not come and kick me in the bum...but you get my drift. It was amazing to go the temple and to feel the spirit, and to receive answers to some things that I needed answers for, and most of all to be there with my best friend, my hero, the cutest guy in the world, my Stevie. I love the temple, and the feeling I feel when I am there. I need to attend more often, especially since I live so close. I can't imagine what it would be like not to have the temple and its blessings in my life, I know I would be lost. What a wonderful gift our Heavenly Father has given us, to be able to go to the temple where we can renew our selves and feel of his love for each of us.
After the temple we went to Dickies Bar-B-Q in AF. Now I am picky about my bar-b-q but when they said you can have all you can eat giant dill pickles and ice cream with your meal, I fell in love. The bar-b-q was actually pretty good for a fast food chain (though not as good as bar-b-q you get in Texas), and they had fried okra...now that is a sign of a good ole Texas bar-b-q joint!!!
Then we headed up and checked into the downtown Marriott. It was a nice hotel, but a huge hunting convention was taking place there and across the street and so there were Trucks and hicks everywhere we looked. People were carrying in six packs up the elevators everywhere...it made for some fun people watching by Steve and I.
We tried to do several activities...movies, temple square, etc but it seemed like everything was closed or there wasn't any good movies showing. So instead we ate at the Pie Pizzeria on the horrible Ute campus ;). The pizza is amazing, I just wish the atmosphere was different, just a few drunks swearing, made it annoying to be in the pizzeria...but at least we were able to enjoy the food. But I do have to say that the Brick Oven sure runs close in the running for those being some of the best pizza you can eat, and I like the atmosphere and campus better.
After walking around temple square and the downtown deseret book(which has really cool art work) we tried to find a good dessert place, but ran into a dead end, even our favorite sports bar(that has awesome games and desserts) the Sky Box had closed down. So finally we decided to go to a Smiths, buy some Ben and Jerry's and watch the Jazz beat the Nuggets back in the comfort of our hotel room.
It was so nice just to relax and really do nothing but talk and enjoy each other's company. I know some people might think it was a lame trip, but it was perfect for us. It was nice to have the break and just enjoy not having to worry about our schedules and where we needed to be, or who we needed to be doing things with. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect present!! :) What an amazing man and best friend I married 11 years ago for time and all eternity!!!

Happy anniversary!
Sorry but I am laughing at the thought of the lady coming to kick your butt at the temple. The combo was just too funny for me.
And I agree, sometimes it is just nice to RELAX!!!! What I would give for an evening like yours
