ears. We have 4 wonderful children who have been healthy, a wonderful home to live in, good cars, and awesome opportunities to serve the youth in our church. So for the last few years things had been going great and then bam!! all of a sudden we had health problems. You would think that somewhere along the way we would get down from being slammed with all of these health problems (Byron and RSV, me and cancer/surgery, and now all the family having nasty colds or flus, I have yet to figure out what they are). But instead it has brought us closer as a family, and we are more humbled and grateful then ever before. During my whole series of tests and the surgery I had many blessings and many things promised to me, and through it all I felt the prayers of many friends and family...and even people I didn't know (thanks to Janeen for submitting my family's name to the Temple Prayer List). And in the end I feel much stronger and more blessed because we were able to make it through it all. Whenever I felt down or scared this scripture would pop into my head:"...peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment; And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes. Thy friends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands. (Doctrine & Covenants 121:7-9). What wonderful promises. This was the answer to Joseph Smith, and I know it comforted him...just like it has comforted me. I truly have been blessed...and thank you Angela for reminding me of how blessed I am. :)
Anyways, Easter was great. We had a fun
easter egg hunt on Saturday with our kids and the Jensen cousins. Of course Byron found a ton of eggs, but Emily and Ben weren't too
far behind him. And our cute little Tyson, well he just found the one or two and was happy sitting on the grass for 15 minutes or more playing with them and trying to figure out what they were. Then Sunday the kids found their easter baskets...to them it was just as exciting as Christmas. Then on Monday we kept the kids home from school to take my
mom to the airport and have a fun day as a family (we don't get to many of those days because Steve works Saturdays). We went to Salt Lake and walked all over Temple Square. The kids got to play dress up, color pictures, see pictures and artifacts of the prophets
and pioneers, and Emily's favorite was playing with the babies. Then we went and saw the Joseph Smith movie...which was cool because the kids were pointing out things they remembered from church movies they had seen, or some of the artifacts they had just seen in the museum. It was a fun day being together as a family and having fun watching the kids climb and play with the water and the large golden statue of Moroni (at the Museum).
I highly recommend taking your kids for a fun day at Temple Square if you ever get the chance...my kids had a blast! Thanks to all of you for your prayers for our family! We really appreciate it, and know it made a difference. By the way at the Dr. on Monday he said the finding of the cancer was random, because they just picked a random spot to test...but we all know it was the Lord's hand guiding them.

Love the pictures!!! I also love taking my kids to Temple Square...it is a favorite of ours. You are truly blessed...because you have me as a sister. Just kidding. The Lord always finds way to bless us in our trials...just look at my Jackson...I know he does. You are truly blessed to be cancer free and have such a wonderful little family. I'm glad you had a great Easter!!!
Love ya lots,
Sharon
John 14:27 is one of my very favorite scriptures. I had it put on vinyl lettering last year so I could have that constant reminder. I have thought a lot about the scripture Ether 12:6 in my life too. After all the junk finally goes away, then comes the witness. I do believe the real trial in life is how faithful we are in the trials not the good times. It is much easier during the good times to have faith that things will work out than when they aren't working out day after day.
You are a great example of faith.
PS I really want some of your Moms food. Could she mail me some? I love those pot stickers I think is what they are called. OH and your pudding layer dessert. Oh my gosh I have to make that. Do you have the recipe? Remember when you, Libby, and I took an entire one and went up to her room at the Lovingiers and ate the whole thing? Wow those were the days to be able to eat an entire dessert and I didn't gain an ounce.
Hope you are feeling and healing well.
Lotsa love
Joy
