So for Byron's b-day we surprised him early last Saturday by taking him to a BYU Football game with us (Thanks Ben for the ticket!). He was so excited, he was asking a billion questions about everything.

As we got closer to the stadium, he got more and more excited. And then we had to walk up the long ramp to our high seats, and he just kept wanting to run up them. And then when he saw the stairs he got nervous, and gripped my hand the whole time.

But we finally found our seats, and got settled. He kept asking about the band, the players, the cheerleaders, Cosmo, and especially all the balloons that people were letting go of. When the game finally started, he started asking questions nonstop about who was who, and what they were doing. And he couldn't figure out why there was only one quarterback, and that he didn't play defense (this is where Flag Football has confused him with normal football). He was so funny about everything and so excited, it was a blast to go with him.
After the game we went down the stairs with our friends the Shanna, Jody, Jordan and Conner. Byron loves Conner and Jordan, and so of course he was chasing them, trying to grab the football, and trying to play catch. He was pretty funny to watch. And then Jody and Steve got into playing football...Shanna and I decided they are just 2 overgrown teenagers.
It was fun to watch them goof around...and then we got to see Elder L Tom Perry...that was pretty cool to see him and his wife at a game. Then Byron discovered the fan shop, and fell in love with a football there. He kept asking the guy if they were free, and what they were going to do with all of them. Shanna kept watching him, and finally she walked over and bought him one as his birthday present. Now Byron was so excited...he would toss the ball up and catch it..and continued this all the way back to where our car was parked (far, far, far away).
Once we were back to the car, he said this was the best present he ever got being able to go the game, and the second best present was the football. Needless to say he had a blast, along with the rest of us...I'm glad to see that our love for the Cougars has passed down to our kids....now if they can only beat Utah in 2 weeks, I would be a happy fan!!
