Happy Birthday Byron!

Wow, I cannot believe that my little boy is 8! How did I ever get so old that I could have an 8 year old. I always thought of the day that my son was old enough to be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost, was a far off day...and now it will be in less than 3 weeks when he will be baptized. Oh boy does the time fly.

Byron is a wonderful son to have. He was born Monday, November 13th 2000 at 10:06 AM. He came quick for a first labor. My water broke at 3 AM, I rolled over to tell Steve, who told me I had peed my pants, and to go and change them and go to bed. So I rolled over to get out, and then a gush was heard by all. Steve sat up, and said...I think your water broke. Now what was funny was watching him run around trying to get dressed, find his wallet(which he couldn't find, his mom brought it later), and get me out the door. He was funny driving to the Hospital, because he kept cracking jokes to ease my pain. When we arrived, the nurse checked us in and verified my water had broke. Then they decided to give me morphine to ease the pain. Well instead it made me have lots of pain, but be loopier than anything. I was higher than a kite, and according to everyone in the room who was laughing at me, I was funniest person on earth (too bad I don't remember anything from that). And then they gave me my epidural and 7 hours after my water broke I had a beautiful healthy boy!

Byron is a blessing in our lives because he has always been so helpful. He is a very determined boy who has to have things go exactly right, or he gets frustrated, which makes us love him even more because it is fun to watch him work through it, to get whatever it is right. But he is very talented in all that he tries. He loves sports, especially basketball, soccer, and football. And he loves fishing with his dad and uncles. He loves to wrestle his little brothers, and play with them. And he has a special love and talent for little babies and toddlers. They adore him, and he loves to be around them, and help them. He has a great sense of humor, and loves to laugh. He is the easiest person to tickle, because you just have to pretend to tickle him and he laughs. He always is so kind to everyone in his class, and because of this makes friends easily. Byron is so smart and has always been advanced in all of his school classes on all the topics especially math and reading (He is on a 4th grade level reading). And Byron can always make me laugh with his goofy sense of humor that he got from me.

We love our Byron, because he is just a light in our lives. We are grateful to have him in our lives, and to be able to feel of his love, and to hear his testimony. And we can't wait for Dec. 6th when he will baptized and receive the Holy Ghost, and become an official member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
