Clothes, Clothes Everywhere

Ok, so today, since Steve was fishing all morning and afternoon, and then headed to work right after...the kids and I decided to declutter the house and shed a little. So we started with the shed organizing, while they road their bikes around. Then we moved to Emily & Tyson's room. We went through all their clothes and packed up the small ones, and hung up ones that fit them now. Then I headed to Byron and Ben's room, because the other room went so smoothly. Boy was this a big mistake. We sorted all the clothes and that went well. So I got ambitious and went through all their toys...now that was a big mistake. I just wanted to take all of them and throw them away. They have so many little toys that I have no clue where they even came from. So after 3 hours in the boys room, it is finally decluttered, all the clothes fit them, and the room is organized...at least for now. And after it all I ended up with 5 totes of clothes that are in storage (added to the other 4 totes already there) of clothes that are too small for my kids right now. Now part of me just wants to pack it all up and take them to the DI, but I know we are not done having kids, so I can't quite do that yet...so I guess I will have to deal with all the totes. But at least they are neat and nice, and my upstairs is organized.

On a funny note. Byron had another loose tooth that Shanna had tried to pull out on Thursday night, but it wouldn't come out. So Friday night Steve and Byron were wrestling and Steve pinned him and pushed on his tooth, when all of a sudden Byron was choking, and then he took a big swallow and a coughed and we realized he swallowed his tooth. So he wrote a nice letter telling the tooth fairy what happened, and even Emily wrote a note telling the tooth fairy that Byron was telling the truth. They are funny kids.

Now for my blessing today...Emily is my blessing. She is one of the sweetest little girls, who always makes me laugh. When I was frustrated upstairs with the boys, she was downstairs cleaning the living room and kitchen for me. She also decorated for Halloween for me. And one side note last Saturday she scrubbed the bathroom sink and counter and floor upstairs, and left a note saying she did it and loved me. Now can you beat a blessing like her in your life??? So I am grateful for my little princess Emily.

That's what I've been doing.....3 yr olds will only try on clothes for so long and 1 yr olds will only be patient with that for so long before they are tearing apart all the clothes piles you have made...let's just say I understand!
And..awesome family pic..I don't know how you get 4 kids to look at the camara...I can't get two to look at the camera...so congrats on that! Kendra

I hear ya on having oodles of totes of kids clothes! Travis is always asking if he can get rid of ALL of them and I say NO. They take up SO much space in our garage though. Oh well, that's life, right? Doesn't it feel SO good to be organized though? I did a little of that in the bedrooms on Saturday as well. I love it. Now if it could only all stay nice, clean and organized, huh?! :)
