So it is official...our Biggest Loser Competition is over!! For those of you who don't know what we did. 10 of us (5 women, 5 men) got together and put in $100 each. Then starting January 1-April 1 we had weekly weigh ins. I lost 15 lbs which was over 9% of my body weight! In the end we figured out precentage wise who lost the most...and my sister-in-law Kristy lost 37.5 lbs to win the women's (Yea Kristy!!!) and drum roll please.......My hubby Steve lost 53 lbs to win the Men's Competition (over 18% of his body weight)!!!!! I am so proud of him! And better yet excited to have him win $500! So at least we got back the money we put in!
He wants to spend it on medical bills, but I told him he has to go and get something nice for himself...and then last night our Bishop, who was also in the competition, counseled him to use it for food storage. He said we need to make sure we have one, because something was going to be happening soon. So I guess we are going shopping for food storage. So if you guys have great suggestions on what to get, recipes to have on hand...we would love to hear your suggestions!
I am so proud of Steve! He said he can't remember the last time he weighed this low! And we are not stopping here, we are going to continue to lose!

Way to go Steve!!!! And Adrienne 15 pounds is AWESOME too!!! If you need food storage advice, I have tons of food, books and recipies, just come over and see what will work for your family.
Good job you guys!!!!
Congratulation....that is so awesome you lost so much weight.
You guys did great! Especially considering the challenges you've had during these last few months. Let's keep it up and get after each other during moments of weakness at Sunday dinner. I know I need all the motivation I can get.

That's awesome. You guys both look great. So, my advice on the food storage is just to buy in bulk what you already eat. For buckets I love the gamma seal lids that are super easy to open. That's where we keep our flour, sugar, oatmeal, rice, etc. It stays fresh longer and you don't need those weird wrench things to open up the bucket! I recommend investing in a few of those. (BTW they're sold at Maceys)
CONGRATS GUYS! That is such a great idea to be motivated to lose weight! I know you guys worked really hard. The older we get the harder it is to lose each pound so reward yourself BIG! Maybe Steve can pick out some things he would actually like in the food storage :). A lot of ours is expired so we need to work on that too. Thanks for sharing! I want to see some swimsuit photos!
Congratulations! It is no easy thing to lose weight. Keep up the work, it will be worth it!
